A comfortable neck patterned after Tyler's own vintage '59 shape, it is a bigger neck with a smooth heel for better high-fret access. 
Whilst it has the Variax functionality inherent in this model it can also be played normally as a typical high end Les Paul style guitar with its passive pickups…which sound superb. I tended to use this as a “normal’ guitar given it sounds and plays fantastic. However it has the ability via the inbuilt Variax technology to sound like so many other guitars (various electric tones such as Strat, Tele, 335, Rickenbacker, various acoustic models, dobro, 12 string, Sitar etc etc). Perfect for live gig situations where you could play a whole night and cover a lot of ground with just the one guitar.
